Yesterday, me and my new team had our post-Christmas get-together.
I can't really consider it a "party" since we were all groggy 'coz we haven't slept since the night before. Well, that's the life of a call center employee... drinking while the sun's up.
Anyway, I did enjoy the get-together, although not everyone who was supposed to be there came. We exchanged gifts and overall, I think they enjoyed it, too. (Hey, Marco! Where's my gift?!)
We weren't able to go out on Christmas day 'coz we were all at work. Yes, we were at work on Christmas day. Our shift's at 3am so we were still able to enjoy our Noche Buena with our own families. Same thing on New Year's eve. I was kinda depressed 'coz I miss my family but that's for another blog post.
So, going back to my team (what can I say, I'm an unorganized blogger hehehe), I've grown to like my team now. They're crazy so they make my work life a bit less stressful. So, I decided to post photos of them here. They were all excited about the "photo shoot" so here we go...
L-R: Sara este Ron, Jim, Jackie, Krishna
Moi, Joan (pronounced as jown), Ron, Next Top Model Angel and our wannabe-OM Fred
That's team work! Char!
Ives on a call (all pretend), Joan, Krishna, Ron, Mark, feeling Fred (OA ha hehe)
Ang mga ASTEGGGG ng Wave 24
Krishna (you again?!?), Marco (what the...), Ron, Jim (yes, pogi!) and John (siga)
11 of them at the "resto" beside Fisherman's Net
Can't remember the name of the place 'coz they suck!
As usual, Angel, feel na feel. Hehehe.
Us with San-chai este Cathy, John's partner (thanks for the beer!)
Mga kuripot kasi 'tong mga kasama ko eh. Hehehe.
Us again... with rising bold star, Angel.
Daming karir, ah.
Awww... how sweet!
Mark picked Jim for the exchange gift. Nice paper bag - butterflies and all.
And guess what's inside... a small plastic butterfly display. Mark, you're revealing too much.
And Jim actually loved the butterflies. Awwww.
Angel, pretty excited with her/his/its gift.
From Fred... pirated DVD of Desperadas (Angel loves Marian) and Kitkat chocolates.
How sweet, noh?
And, of course, moi, busy at work.
(Read on...)
That's it. We could've enjoyed the get-together more if everyone was there 'coz 5 of us didn't receive any gifts 'coz Jonah, Ryan, Dave, Poi and Marco weren't able to join us.
And, it was all unorganized so the venue and their food were major factors to our "un-enjoyment". Mai was pretty upset 'coz of the servings, especially their "buttered" chicken - PhP 100 for less than a leg portion of the chicken. And PhP 100 for a Pancit Canton serving good for someone who's on a diet. Sheesh!
So, word of warning, don't go to this place beside Fisherman's Net in Lahug, Cebu. Food is crazy expensive and customer service is as bad as their food.
Me and Mai weren't familiar with all the gimikan places here so we weren't able to plan the whole thing. (If we were in Manila, this won't be a problem) Ron initially wanted us to go to Neo Neo or Julia's but there were some who disagreed (meaning Marco). So, from now on, if we can't find a decent place to get together and drink without getting upset over the servings and how bad and expensive the food was, we'll just do it at our place. Mama agreed to have our future "parties" or team buildings at our place. At least, here, we can plan to have games or actual team building activities. And, we can enjoy REAL good food, less expenses.
Lesson learned: Always organize your parties/team building.
First time this happened to me. Anyway, we'll do better next time.
After the party, me and Mai went straight to her relative's house in Talisay. They're celebrating their town's fiesta and Mai's family were already there. Good thing we did 'coz they have lechon, menudo, etc. Nakabawi ako sa kinain ko sa pinanggalingan namin. Gosh!
Made me miss my team back in APAC. I'll post photos of them here, too, next time. They had their Xmas party last night and I was supposed to join them through phone patch (naks) but I was so sleepy that I didn't hear Lindon calling me 7 times on my cel last night. Sorry, Lindon! Miss ko na kayo!
