Ellen DeGeneres Replaces Paula Abdul on American Idol

If you haven't heard yet, Paula Abdul quit American Idol weeks ago. I'm not sure what the reason is but based on what I've read, it's because of salary disputes. Well, honestly, I'm kinda sad to see her go 'coz she's the only 1 with a heart in the judges panel. And I appreciated her more when Kara joined last season.

Definitely, American Idol will not be the same without Paula. But, I'm so glad that Kara Dioguardi wasn't put on the show to replace Paula. For the taping of the American Idol auditions, Paula was replaced by some guest judges - Shania Twain, Katy Perry (can't wait to see her!), Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige and Avril Lavigne, among others.

But, who's replacing Paula Abdul in the actual show? Someone who'll permanently replace her? Well, it's Ellen DeGeneres!

When I found out that it's gonna be her, I got all ecstatic! I love her! I love her style of comedy, her personality and, of course, because she's gay, too. LOLz. I loved her when she joined as a guest judge in So You Think You Can Dance last season. She's just damn funny.
Now, I'm more excited to watch American Idol next year, January 2010. I know she's not just bringing comedy to the show. I know she's gonna be pretty much the person who'll bring sincere warmth to the contestants and the show. She said that she wants to be the voice of the people who buy music and watch the show.

Can't wait! Now, I just have to tolerate another season of Nigel Lithgoe on SYTYCD.

Paula quited because she felt that in the last season, the judges' opinion on Lambert turned out to be completely and utterly different from America's votes. America "faith"-fully voted for Kris rather than the luscious Lambert. American Idol is a singing competition so they said, it's not a moral competition, is it? What a shame...

  3. If that's the case, I understand her decision completely. Adam deserved the title more than Kris. Kris knows that. And as much as I wanna pity Adam, I think him not winning boosted his career 'coz people who wanted him to win are now all out with their support.

The voters don't always get it right. A lot of voters are so caught up with their favorite without thinking if they do deserve the win. The title is "American Idol", not "America's Favorite Singer". Idol for me is someone who exceeds the standards so Adam should've won.
