Our internet cafe opened on March 6th. So far, we're satisfied with our daily sales. We were making more money back in Cebu, but the expenses there were higher 'coz we also pay monthly for the commercial space we were renting. Now, our cafe's in our property, just in front of our house. We're no longer renting so that means less expenses monthly, so we can save more for upgrades or additional computers, or even promotional products or giveaways to our customers.
I'm already planning on the giveaways that we can offer our customers. The first idea on my list is to give away free shirts with our internet cafe's logo and name. I know people here in Manila, especially kids, would enjoy receiving free shirts. At first, I was thinking of giving away notebooks or pens. I thought they're perfect or would be useful to most of our customers since 70% of them are 17 years old or younger, and are still students. However, I also wanted to make sure our adult customers would enjoy the giveaway or incentives we'll be offering. So, we ended up with free shirts instead.
We're planning on giving them away this summer as incentives for a promo that we'll be having. Summer time is usually a low sales season for most internet cafes because most kids are on vacation and they don't have allowances, therefore, less money spent on renting at computer shops.
I know Christmas is still 9 months away, but I also wanted to give away something to the kids. We don't want to offer discounted rental rates so we'll just give our customers small gifts or tokens.
I hope you can help me decide on what giveaways we can offer to our customers this summer and in the Christmas season. I know we've already decided on shirts, but maybe you can share a better and lower cost giveaway idea with me.
Good luck with your new business. It's nice to see someone who really understands computers running a business like this. When I walk into electronics stores I get the feeling the salespeople know less about computers than I do.
ReplyDeleteI hope you become a worldwide chain and open up stores in NY to compete with Starbucks.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. However, that can only happen in my wildest dreams. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yeah, I also hate that when the salespeople don't know squat about what they're selling or their features. When that happens to me, I usually move on to the next store. Hehehe.
Hello there, how about giving an incentive for customers to come back and spend more time at your internet cafe...like they can get free one hour for every ten accumulated hours of use. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
