I Just Switched to Disqus Comments

Yesterday, I switched to Disqus Comments so I can have better control of the comments on my blogs here on Blogger. Importing of all my existing comments took some time yesterday, but I only had to wait less than 30 minutes for them to be up on my blog again. It took me less than 10 minutes to set it up on 2 of my blogs. Woot!Disqus-Comments

I have chosen to switch because I need a better way to moderate the comments on my Blogger blogs. It's been a hassle moderating spam comments, especially after I decided to make this a U-Comment, I-Follow blog. With all those spam comments, one won't need a fitness equipment to lose the weight. All the stress of those spam comments can help you sweat it out. *LOL* It's been really time-consuming so even my Pinay Online Money Maker blog is using Disqus now. It's good that they have Akismet for comment spam control, just like with Wordpress blogs.

There are a couple of other reasons why I switched to Disqus. One of their features is visitors can leave nested comments or reply to other people's comments and it'll be easier to see them. People can also use Facebook, Twitter, OpenID and their Yahoo! accounts to leave comments.

Have you used Disqus on any of your blogs? How was your experience with them? I've heard good things so I decided to switch.

  1. I know, I actually thought about switching to a 3rd party comment system, but the advantages really outweighed the disadvantages. I can export my comments from Disqus, anyway, if I wanted to switch back. But, I doubt I'd do that. Hehehe.

  3. I've read people complaining about that same issue about Disqus. I was even scared that my comments from Blogger won't be imported properly. I'm glad I had no issues with that.

I hope you can get that fixed because for me, comments are really a big part of the whole blogging thing. It's the discussion part that what excites me about reading comments.

  4. I couldn't agree more. Their online help is really not helpful. Nonetheless, I like their comment system. It gives you a lot of options and info Blogger does not.
