My First Trick or Treat on Halloween

Last October 31st, a day after my birthday, I had a Trick or Treat Halloween event for our young customers here at our computer shop. They really were excited about it when I posted about it a week before. They all wanted to participate because of the freebies I was giving away like candies and coupons for free computer rental hours and load of their choice.

Come the 31st, I was actually expecting there'll be a long queue of kids in their costumes to celebrate Halloween with us. But, to my disappointment, only a few of them had the courage to wear masks and dress up for the occasion. *LOL*

I had a couple of goodies already packed that I was supposed to give away to the first 20 customers on their Halloween costume. But, they were all too freaking shy to go out in costumes.

I couldn't have the Trick or Treat at night 'cause all the kids here in our place aren't allowed by their parents to go out after 6pm. Yes, that's how strict the parents are here.

So, these were the only kids who wore masks and costumes to the Trick or Treat event. I chose the girl wearing the witch costume and the guy wearing that yellow costume (not sure what that costume was) as the winners for best in costume and they each won 3 hours free.

What is wrong with these kids?! *LOL* Some of them also thought that they were only supposed to wear scary costumes. I said any kind of costume was acceptable.

After they saw what I was giving away, including a couple of snacks that I got from a blogging gig, they were all regretting not coming in their costumes. But, I had a lot more candies and chocolates left so I decided to give them all away, too, even to those who weren't in costumes.

I have another event for the kids this Christmas. I haven't finalized the details yet, but I know they'll enjoy it, too. Some of them were even asking if there'll be part 2 of the Halloween event. *LOL* Well, they'd have to wait 'til Christmas for my next pakulo.

I love doing these kinds of events or giveaways for kids or for anyone just for fun. I remember, I had this monthly event with my call center agents back in Cebu where I award the best agents with certificates and goodies. It's really a great way to bond with people and, in my business, I feel that my customers are now more inclined to rent and play here than in other computer shops in our area. This was actually my first Trick or Treat with kids on Halloween. It was fun, but I wanted all of them in costume. *LOL*

How about you? How did you spend your Halloween? Did you go on a Trick or Treat with your kids or were you the candy giver?
