This is my official entry to Jared's Little Corner birthday giveaway.
One of the many reasons I admire mommies I know is how they can throw an awesome birthday party for their kids. I can throw a decent adult birthday party as I only have to mind that we haven't ran out of food yet and that everyone's having fun. I can only imagine how much responsibility it is to manage a kid's birthday party.
Take for instance a long-time friend of mine, Chikay. On her daughter's first birthday, she prepared homemade marble, banana and chocolate cupcakes for the party (see photo below). She had to take care of her daughter, entertain the guests, make sure the food supply's good and everyone, most especially her baby and the kids who were there, are all enjoying themselves.
Don't get me wrong, I'm jealous. Seriously jealous. I want to have that same crazy fun as I celebrate my own kid's birthday party someday. Someday.
Now, I'm getting lost in my own world here. But, I'm actually trying to come up with a birthday party suggestion for Jared, who is celebrating his 2nd birthday.
Though I don't have kids yet, the 7-year gap between me and my bro has helped me gain some experience when it comes to taking care of kids. I also took care of nieces and nephews before so I have an idea what kids love.
My ideas may not be unique, but if I was in Jared's shoes, I'd probably want these:
- I'd enjoy fun games like Musical Statues (Stop Dance) or anything musical. Boys and girls can join this fun game. Plus, I know our mommies would enjoy watching us, too.
- I want games where me and my friends can win prizes like, well, candies!
- I want a big, deliciously sweet cake to celebrate my birthday. And I want blue icing! Or probably a Despicable Me themed cake like this one:
- I'll super enjoy opening gifts from my guests and my mommy. I hope there'll be some Elmo or Despicable Me toys somewhere in there, too. ^_^
- Of course, I also want my young friends to enjoy so I'd love if they'd all get candy bags as a thank you for coming.
Knowing kids are easy to please, I believe this should be real fun for Jared. And I bet all the parents who'd be there will enjoy, too, as long as there'll be an overflow of food for both kids and adults. :)
I can’t wait ‘til the time I get to throw a birthday party for my own kid/s in the future. For now, all I can do is go through photos of mommies I know to keep that hope alive. :)
Happy birthday, Jared! And happy blog anniversary, too! :)
