Tonight, at 8pm, is the much-awaited concert of New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys at the Mall of Asia Arena. I swear, when I first learned about this concert, I promised myself that there's no way I'll miss it. But, guess what... I'll be spending the whole day in Divisoria with my nanay instead to shop for props for my food photos. Hah!
I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a BIG fan of the Backstreet Boys. When I was in high school, I bought BSB's first albums (til Millennium) with my saved money from my daily allowance and listened to their songs on loop for weeks straight that I eventually felt like my ears were bleeding from excessive exposure to their songs. *LOL* Oh, also, when I was in a dance group with my high school barkada, we danced to their songs "Get Down" (our winning performance at a Halloween dance contest in our school), and "Quit Playing Games in My Heart" (oh, the memories of this song just makes me want to go hide in a cave somewhere LOL).
With all that said, you'd probably be thinking now how crazy I am that I'll be missing this. I still love their songs, no matter how silly it may be for a lot of people now. But, I know a lot of their fans back in the days are still fine in admitting that they were big fans of BSB.
The 80s boy band New Kids on the Block wasn't really a favorite. I only started listening to their songs when their members Jordan Knight and Joey McIntyre released their own albums.
I guess that's why I'm not too excited about this concert. Even with the awesome discounts that numerous group-buying sites had available the past few days, I was not inclined enough to watch them both live.
If the concert was of Backstreet Boys and 'N SYNC, I would probably die in desperation just to watch them live. Even without Justin Timberlake, I would love to watch them, especially the now out-of-the-closet Lance Bass and Joey Fatone (I loved him in Dancing with the Stars!). For now, I'm satisfied with just repeatedly listening to BSB's songs. I do wish there'll be a next time though. :)
Im watching it tonight dear. Would have love to watch with you. Im an nkotb fan =) ive outgrown boybands when the bsb came in the scene =)
