Sorry, I had to mention Thia Megia making it to the American Idol Season 10 Top 13 Finalists right off the bat. She's a Pinay and has an amazing voice that blew me away that's why I'm so happy she made it to the finals.
Anyway, I haven't blogged about American Idol just like what I've done in the past because I was completely enjoying them this season that I barely had time to even write anything about them. I can't believe that even after 9 seasons of American Idol, they can make me enjoy the show again like it's something new.
I was pretty skeptical about Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez joining Randy Jackson in the American Idol judges table, but after watching them from the first episode, during the auditions, they're doing a pretty awesome job, especially J Lo! I adore her! She's so beautiful and the way she gives her criticisms to those who were auditioning made me love her more. I thought she's not going to make that much sense as a judge, but she's doing a pretty awesome job. And I always look forward to what she'll be wearing next!
Steven Tyler's addition to the judges table was pretty interesting. I love him and Aerosmith, so I was happy to see him, but didn't really see him as someone who'd be serious about the whole thing. He proved me wrong (like he cared, eh? LOL). I love that he's one of the judges because he brings that rocker feel and energy that can only come out from him. And when he sings or jams along with those auditioning was just awesome to watch. I really hope they'd perform here in Manila. I'll definitely watch them! It's pretty funny that they have a "bleep" card especially made for him 'cause he can't seem to avoid cursing while they're on. Hahaha. But it just shows how much he's having fun as a judge.
Randy Jackson… well, I don't like him then. But, now, I do 'cause he usually is the only one who sees there's something wrong with the performances, especially during the first 2 performance nights of American Idol's Top 24. He's no Simon Cowell, alright, but I guess it's just because he had more experience judging contestants. I hope Steven and Jennifer can kinda remember they're judging and not watching a concert. *LOL*
If Simon was still on the show, I bet half of those who made it to the Top 24 or even the Top 13 finalists wouldn't have made it. And that's sad 'cause I love all of those who made it so far.
The format of the whole American Idol Season 10 show is working for me. They really were able to highlight how grueling Hollywood week is and that they're serious about finding the next star.

They're Ashthon Jones, Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart, Jacob Lusk, James Durban, Karen Rodriguez, Lauren Alaina, Naima Adedapo, Paul McDonald, Pia Toscano, Scotty McReery, Stefano Langone, and Thia Megia.
The biggest disappointment for me among those who didn't make it to the Top 24 was Chris Medina. His story broke my heart, I was crying for like 30 minutes after I saw his clip on American Idol. I wanted him to make it! I mean, c'mon! He's got a good voice. He's a songwriter, too. He plays the guitar. He especially deserves a break. He stood by his girlfriend, his fiancee, 'cause he knows she needs her the most now more than ever. He took care of her after that tragic accident. Even though they haven't made their vows yet as a married couple, he's standing by her through sickness and in health. I admire him for being that strong. I can see it's hard seeing your beautiful girlfriend go through all that pain. I'm glad she's recovering now and I'm praying she'd be able to walk even without any knee brace support. I'm also praying Chris breaks out as an artist even without American Idol. And he's on his way with this single, What Are Words, written by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins for Universal Music Group (UMG). It was written around his story.
