This month of May has been the most hectic of all. I’ve got a ton of things listed on my to-do list, too, ‘cause of my offline and online gigs. Been getting many blogger event invites here and there, too. Most of them, I had to decline ‘cause of schedule conflicts and my business. But, I’m not complaining, okay? In fact, I’m very grateful that I’m this busy.
For the past week, I’ve been preparing for the start of the school year. For your info, with my business, a computer shop / internet cafe, sales go way up during school days. With all the projects that need printing and all the research work students need to accomplish, you sure could expect a remarkable increase in sales. And, because students have allowances, they have more money to spend on computer rentals and gaming (FYI, I don’t allow students in uniform to enter during school days).
This school year, I’ve decided to offer more services to my customers. Due to popular demand, I now have a laminator and have come up with designs for name plates. Here’s a photo of my small laminator that my nanay bought for me for Php 1,500.
She was pretty excited to buy me one that she didn’t wait for me to come with her. So, I think she ended up with an overpriced laminator ‘cause when I went out to purchase laminating films and asked around, there was a bigger one that only costs Php 2,000. For now, though, since most of the orders are for ID and name plate laminations, I’d be okay with this.
I also have added book labels on stickers and personalized calendar printing because I’ve seen the demand for them last year. I’ve been coming up with new designs / templates / layouts for customers to choose from, which is one of the reasons why some of my blogs aren’t as updated as I wanted them to be.
Anyway, I’ll be training an assistant starting today, Monday. That means I get to focus more on other things I need to get done, offline and online, while he takes care of manning the shop. I can also not worry about having to close my shop when I go out. I’ll have more time to spend with my friends (bloggers and non-bloggers) and my family. Yeyyy!
This year, I’m also hoping to start the other business I wanted my dad to be involved in. I’m crossing my fingers and praying that’ll push through, too. I didn’t expect I’d be this business-minded, really. But, I still have a lot to learn… and do. So, ta-ta! ^_^
