My Online Shopping Quasi-Addiction

Ever since I got hold of a Paypal account a few years back, I couldn’t wait to use it to shop online. I remember anxiously waiting to receive my payments from PTC sites that I was a member of almost 2 years ago just so I can buy my second domain (I used a credit card to pay for Just Another Pixel’s *LoL*). I enjoyed how hassle-free it was to purchase something online without filling up forms, queueing, haggling, etc. Since then, I started to develop this habit of preferring to buy anything online instead of going out to actually shop.

Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy shopping at Greenhills or Divisoria with my bro, nanay and my friends.  But, you have to admit, braving the crowded markets in Divi and haggling at GH can be a little tiring. Unlike with online shopping, all you need is time to browse through the trusted online stores to find what you’re looking for, or even just to purchase something you’d want to try. In my case, I’m addicted to buying cosmetics now. Here’s my most recent loot from Digital Traincase, one of the popular online beauty store on Multiply (will link to them on my post at Pinay Reviewer).

I love the anticipation for the package to arrive, opening the courier packaging to reveal what you bought online. I know, some of you may argue that nothing beats holding the product you’re about to buy first before you actually pay for it. But, if you already know what you’re going to get, why bother, right? *grin*

I bought my Canon IXUS 220HS from an online seller – DBGADGETS. It was a smooth transaction and I’m VERY happy with my purchase. Its battery charger though was drenched in flood water during typhoon Pedring.

Thank goodness for the new Multiply Marketplace where we can now consolidate all our purchases from different online sellers so you can pay for all them at the same time. I am LOVING Multiply right now.

I’ll be writing a more thorough review of Multiply’s new online store system. I was actually invited to their launch and I even won a LUMIX waterproof camera (pictured below), but haven’t written my review or post about them yet (I know, there’s no excuse!). But, it was really because I wanted an exhaustive feature on their site, with screenshots and all. So far, since they launched their new online checkout system, I’ve shopped four (4) times. And I’ll be shopping for more items by next month to prepare for my Christmas gifts.

I wish though that there’ll be more promos or coupons that Multiply will offer site wide. I’ve used up my Multiply gift certificates and for all those times, the transactions were hassle-free. I wonder though how they can earn from offering promos when their sellers are mostly small businesses and entrepreneurs. But, if ever they do, I hope they can post coupons here from online sellers who offer personalized or customized gifts, just like these custom mouse pads I had printed from this Multiply store whose name escapes me now. @_@
