It's been months since I last went out on a date with a very special someone. I miss spending hours with that special someone, talking about almost anything we could think of while we laugh the minutes away. It's one of the best things in life.
Before you further analyze excitedly who my date was, here's a photo…
Yes, my date with a special someone was with my nanay.
Sorry for the misleading intro. I know a lot of my friends are intrigera so they probably thought I had a romantic date with someone. I just had to write the intro like that and make that first photo for added drama... ^_^ I know they support me and wish me well in the love department. *LOL*
Anyway, going back to my special date with my nanay, it's been too long since we last went out, just the two of us, so it was pretty good timing that Ken couldn't make it that weekend.
We headed off first to a salon and spa in Makati so I can have my hair pampered. The whole thing took a couple of hours, but my nanay patiently waited.
Oh, and I needed someone to take photos of me so I can write a review about it. Guess who stepped up… coolness, eh?
She's a fast learner, my nanay. I taught her how to take a photo, zoom in and out, preview photos, etc. In a few minutes, she was taking photos like a pro! ^_^
If she only has more use for a camera like this, I'd probably buy her one. She's got a knack for taking photos actually. It was really fun. I got a li'l scared 'cause I might not have decent photos to post, but surprisingly, she took photos well. :)
After hours sitting at the salon, we went straight to Greenbelt 3. We decided to buy movie tickets first - I promised her that we'll watch something. I wanted to watch "In Time", but I mistakenly said "Tower Heist" was a comedy flick so she chose that. We were scheduled for a late afternoon screening.
We were really hungry already so we went straight to Dillinger's to use the vouchers I bought from CashCashPinoy. Here's my nanay thinking of what to order.
We had Php 2,000 worth of vouchers so we thought it'll be just good for the 2 of us. We were SHOCKED when they served everything we ordered. The servings were HUGE!
So, we didn't get to eat everything. I'll be posting about this on our food blog - Certified Foodies - so stay tuned. Everything was delicious. My nanay even commented, "Di ba sila lugi dito?". Right on. That's why I recommend you visit Dillinger's next time. Oops, I'll stop here about this resto. LOL
After lunch, we were both really full. We still had an hour before the movie screening so I brought her to Timezone. Yes, TIMEZONE. The place where kids and the child-at-heart play arcades, etc. My nanay is pretty cool enough to enjoy it so it was only fitting to bring her there to pass the time.
She enjoyed the motorcycle race game (forgot the name) and we were both laughing 'cause she couldn't speed up for some reason. What made me crack up was when she started bragging she didn't hit anything or anyone. I told her, "No wonder you were last place everytime." Hahaha. I guess she wanted to win the game fair and square. :)
Afterwards, we went to the First Person Shooter (FPS) games. We played like 4 games each. It was fun seeing my nanay serious about killing those damn zombies and terrorists! *LOL*
There were people behind us watching while we play. They were all smiling at us. I guess they heard me yelling, "Nanay, RELOADDDD!!!". Hahahaha. She kept on forgetting kasi. But, she got the hang of it after 2 games. :D
After we ran out of game credits, we went to the snack bar near the cinema to buy drinks. She kept on commenting how much fun all that playing was. We were like kids. :)
It’s pretty hilarious that we both fell asleep a couple of times during the "Tower Heist" movie 'cause of how tired we were after waking up really early, spending hours waiting at the salon, playing at Timezone plus the excruciating fact that the flick was a bit boring. The action only picked up like after an hour of painlessly hearing Ben Stiller blabbering on-screen. I should've pushed her to watch In Time instead. :D
It was one day of fun with my nanay that I cherish so much. I know she had fun too and I really want to have more bonding moments like this with her. I'm planning on a Divisoria shopping treat for her soon. :)
