1) I will start giving out the beta keys once the # of subscribers to my blog reaches 150. Yes, just 150. So, start subscribing now!
2) I will give out 10 of the 25 beta keys EXCLUSIVELY to my blog subscribers.
Aside from that, I'll be giving out 10 more beta keys to those who would do all of the following:

- tell me which HoN hero you want to play and why (check out the guides here)

ReplyDeleteI've been a fan of DotA for a long time. I started to like the game because of the teamplay and tactical thinking. I am growing bored and annoyed of DotA nowdays though, since there is a lot of delay and movementflaws, since the game- engine itself isn't optimized for DotA.
When i heard that HoN were coming out, I got really excited. Finally a game designed and made for the "DotA" concept.
I am definatley going to buy the game as soon as it is availible for purchase. I just cant wait any longer to try it :P

I wish to play the HoN beta because ive been playing DoTA for about 2 years, I still like DoTA, But seeing as how theirs a game itself based around it, I'd love to try it out.

Why I want a key: I've been *aware* of DOTA for a really long time, but I never played it because, well, my annoying 11-year old brother played it! Now that he's a much less annoying, I've watched him play a few games and it seems like a really fun game. The only other PvP I've tried (and loved) was Guild Wars (well and Corpse Craft if that counts, haha) but DOTA seems to be much better known, and well HON is supposed to be DOTA but better. I love competitive teamwork games. I've been behind on everyone else for years, so please give me a beta key for HON! :D

Like you, I really want to try Ophelia (healing is always nice) but Succubus also looks promising with her hexes. Playing support characters increases my appreciation for the complexity of a game.

ReplyDeleteI've subscribed to your blog, but I'm also gonna do the extra stuff for you to convince you that I really deserve a beta key :P.
I really want a beta key because I've played dota since Eul made it like 6 years ago, (he's the inventor of dota, not icefrog xD, although Icefrog has improved the game a lot)and although I still love it, I would like to try a fresh implementation of the game :P.
I've also tried demigods but I didn't really like it because it wasn't as fast as dota and on top of the inferior gameplay, it also didn't have a decent multiplayer.I hope HoN's gonna be my new favorite game, but I want to play it from beta so I can help improve the game. Also I don't want to fall behind in skill with the people who have beta access.
As for my hero:
Kraken definitely is my favorite hero, as tidehunter was my favorite in dota because it is almost the same as tidehunter and I just like it's strong gameplay. I really look forward to charge people again and finish them with a huge whirlpool :D.

Yeah, Im really getting excited about this beta key giveaway xD! I was immediately in love. Heres a list why HoN epicly pwns Dota and some usefull information ive gathered from searching various sites for hours for a beta key xD! Enjoy. ^^

#1-The graphics are incredibly slick and it feels like your playing using a top notch graphics card. Its like ur playing IRL! jk ;D
#2-The game engine is entirely beatifull... The engine gives physics to every aspect of the game, including the famous ragdoll affects and corpes exploding when u pwn em in teh face :P.
#3-The new interface and slick look gives it another edge agianst Dota. Totally new spell system,interface,shop system, and a by far all out incredibly new look brings the game even more closer to pwnage!It might look confusing but nothing but a couple of games might not fix xD!
#4-New leaver system that pwns all those pesky noobs that keep leaving 3 seconds in game. Yea its that good!
#5-Self updater, The game basically progresses as time progresses, this means new heros, items, etc.
#6-The gameplay is really porportional to Dota. Meaning, all heros are basically porportional to the heros from Dota. For example, Pudge's stats are very similar and porportional to the new pudge in HoN. This means you dont have to spend all your time just trying to get used to the gameplay of specific heros against other heros and how much damage they take against eachother etc... ^^
#7-Put #s 1-6 together and what do u get? Well u get a game that PWNS! YES, its like a GODLIKE! spree against Dota hehe :). Yes its that good, and yes im going to buy the game because its amazing!

My hero of choice is Pudge. He is a ideal hero for early ganks and a great hero againts other heros. Hook,rot,eat,dead...
Its fairly that simple. His spells prolly has the most beasty combos in the game so far ;P His spells and overall look is better in HoN however the damage of the spells have changed slighly because of the updates and porportional changes based upon the other heros and new items etc. He is an insane hero and if played right, can change the tide of winning and losing.

Hi MHEL, I am gabz, or known in the online world as gabby. I have been gaming since I was about 8. My father was always a big fan of pinball, but he jumped all over the Atari and NES when they were released and those two consoles are what really got me into gaming. I’ve been a console gamer for the majority of my life because my family never owned a computer. It wasn’t until my teen years where we got our first computer and I picked up Starcraft, and from that day forward I was an online gamer.

One night while I was trying to find a custom game to play on Bnet, I joined a DotA game and although I was flamed for being terrible (first time playing), I was hooked. I played DotA day in and day out for almost a year, participating in DXDwest when they were still an up and coming name. I played in Cal-i with a group of friends and did fairly well. After 3 of 5 players decided to give up DotA, I began playing only casually or when we had enough people for an IH.
After looking at HoN and reading quite a few blogs on the game play, and seeing the graphics (I am a graphics whore), I feel that this game is just what I need to keep me entertained (I’ve barely been gaming lately since nothing out currently can hold my attention besides DotA when I have friends on). I currently have about 6 friends who are playing HoN so I’ve been searching most of today to try and obtain a beta key and give this game a go.

I deserve the beta key because I have played so much DotA that a fresh coat of paint would be nice, because Demigod was such a disappointment, and because League of Legends feels like DotA 1.5.

Ok, back when DOTA first came out I had a rival player, I remember clearly the screen name fashapunk6, we always for some reason got to play against each other all the damn time, I hated his guts, back then I was unemployed so I was night after night after night, everyone started noticing our rivalry, people would get pissed at us because we would ignore everyone else in the game and just hunt each other, some would take advantage of that and join the hunt, that pissed me off even more...
The next part is the incredible part, a month after I took a break from WC3 all together I went to a party, I am from San Diego, CA. I met some cool people from Anaheim, CA friends of a cousin, in that group of people was this girl... I thought she was attractive so we started talking, likes dislikes, favorite things, sex, etc, I never went there on the geek side and mentioned video games, but she did! she went out with WC3 and Starcraft, I got excited... after an hour of WC3 talk I mentioned DOTA... She was like "yeah I love DOTA, I play every night!" "Oh really? What is your screen name and what server you play on?" "US West and its fashapunk6" BAM!@!!!!
You can imagine my face... I told her I was Hagirn69... She started laughing so hard... We started talking crap to each other in a good way for hours, no one knew wtf was going on...
In closing, we are still good friends and she moved down to Temecula cause of work and we go out from time to time...
So I want a beta key cause I want a new rival!!!

ReplyDeleteI have not really been following HoN or LoL, although the word on battle.net is that neither have really been that impressive.
I have been playing dota for about 4 years, although I am not currently involved in any competitive gaming. I am interested to see where these new additions will take us. I was able to get a LoL key today, and although I was not impressed at all with the gameplay, now that the NDA has been lifted, I have been seeing some nice hon videos.
More then anything I am looking to see what sort of community develops within hon. The graphics do seem nice, but that is a very low priority for me. Being able to reconnect when dropped from a game and player stats are two promising features.
I have always been reluctant to try new heroes in dota, and so I would expect I would be most interested to try out the same heroes that I play now. As I learn more about the new heroes, and see how they fit into the game I may consider picking some of them up.
A few versions ago, I had a fairly competitive puck. I lost interest in him lately, but in general I pick heroes that are strong in lane and who can orb/shadow walk. Some of my recent picks have been viper, silencer, lion, and warlock.
So that's it. Gl to everyone in this competition. I am regretting not becoming a fan of Hon on facebook and missing out on their 70,000 key give away. Dota is my sport, and if hon is worth playing, I would like to give it a shot.

kidding.. hehehe! ok, so i need a reason right?? uhhhmmm, i got 6 barkadas, and all of us play dota.. and a couple of days ago, the most unfortunate thing happened.. the rest of them got their beta keys, EXCEPT ME!!!!
And i feel so left-out everytime they wud play and i wud be on spectator mode.. so what i do is i leave the shop, head to jollibee, and order my self a regular yum, large fries, large coke, and an extra gravy for the fries.. crap!!!
by the way, i wanna try the newest hero, andromeda.. Vengeful was always my favorite in DoTA.. She's great during the early part of the game what with her stun skill and her plus damage, and she's even better late-game, when u've built her arsenal of weapons and armors already.. i wanna see if the HoN version of Vengeful lives up to her original..

Hey, I've got a good friend which I see him only 1 or 2 times per year. Hey, I've been a huge DOTA fan for a while now however it is becoming increasingly boring playing it in WC. One of my brothers friends came over and he was talking about the Beta which first got me interested so i looked around and it seems like it would rekindle my interest in DOTA. As for what hero i would like to try Wildsoul has caught my eye, Summoning Summon BooBoo and bear form seem like they would be interesting Especially Booboo(winning name).

If you still have any keys I would love to have one. I've played DotA for a long time, and would love to try HoN with a couple of my friends. Out of all the HoN heroes I would probably most like to play Swiftblade because he seems almost identical to Juggernaut besides having his healing ward replaced.
