Studying Online

Some of you might not know this but I'm also into web and graphics design. I've only done a couple of websites as a freelancer in the past years and I haven't really focused on it as a career. When I started designing, I was only using Notepad, Adobe Photoshop and pure HTML knowledge to design websites and logos for clients.

In 2006, I studied a short course on Dreamweaver and Flash in one of the technical schools here in the Philippines. Even after that, I still wasn't able to pursue my web and graphics design career because I was busy with my work as a Team Leader in a call center. I was too tired, actually, to even do anything else when I get home.

StudyOnline Now that my partner and I are managing our own business, I have all the time in the world to pursue my dream to be a professional web and graphics designer. I need to be updated with what's in with web development today. However, since I'm also using my graphics design skills in our business, I can't really take the time to commute to and from the technical school where I want to study web design further. So, I've been searching online to find online colleges where I can do just that.

While I was browsing, I found out that there are actually a lot of Universities that offer online courses for people like me who just don't have the time and wants to be in control of when they can study. If you're in the US, you might want to check this list of Universities that offer online courses at Classes and Careers. They have a list of all Universities that offer online courses and you can request for information for any of them that you would like to take.

I have friends who took photography classes online and most of the feedback I got from them are positive. They say that most online courses are cheaper than when you actually study in a campus. You won't have to worry about your transportation and other expenses. You can choose to study at your own time and convenience. Plus, you also won't have to worry about taking unnecessary courses. You can learn what you wanted and needed to learn because you also have full control on what you want to take.

I am really considering on pursuing this so I am still looking for the best online school for me. If you've tried studying online, I'd appreciate it if you share it with me here.
