A previous colleague of mine asked me about online marketing a couple of days ago. He said that I seem to be very internet savvy because of blogs that I maintain and how I make money online. I told him I'm really not an expert, but seeing how my blogs have been doing, especially the new ones, makes me actually think about how I did it.
There are a lot of ways that you can market yourself or promote your product, service, blog or website online. I have tried out a couple of them and found that they were indeed effective in driving people to my blogs. I've learned a couple of tricks in SEO (Search Engine Optimization, in case you're wondering) and I'm pretty happy with the traffic my blogs are getting.
Anyway, one of the online marketing techniques I suggested to my colleague is making an online video for business, focusing on his services. I told him it can be just him talking about his services or products. It can also include testimonials from his clients. It doesn't really have to be something complicated or filled with special effects. It can simply be informative with a sense of truth or reality to it. This way, people won't think that it's just another trick to get them to hire him or buy his products.
I explained to him that Youtube and other video hosting sites actually get a lot of traffic and usually appears on the first page of Google's search results so putting up a video online would definitely help boost traffic to his site that promotes his products and services. I am actually thinking about putting up one of my own in a few days for 2 of my other blogs.
I too use online marketing tools but have yet to use video marketing, I should give it more consideration as you suggested above. Thanks
