Ever since I watched Oprah Winfrey, celebrities (local and international) and other people who have touched the lives of people around them, I've prayed that, hopefully, I will be given the chance to also fulfill someone's wish or to dramatically help others who are in need. And from browsing through Tree of Wishes, a forum where people can post their simple or grand wishes in the hopes of inspiring someone to lend a hand, I thought about coming up with my first ever blog contest - Make a Wish.

The purpose of this contest is not only to give away prizes to the winning bloggers, but, also, if possible, fulfill a wish of a stranger or a fellow blogger you already know for kindness' sake. And, hopefully, this will help us get to know more bloggers by reading about their ultimate wish.

THIS BLOG CONTEST IS OPEN TO EVERYONE across the globe, not just for Filipinos.

You must have a Paypal and Entrecard account because the top 5 prizes include Entrecard credits. If you're not yet a member of Entrecard or you don't know what it is, it's a blogger network where you can earn credits by dropping your Entrecard on other bloggers' Entrecard widgets. These credits can be used to advertise on Entrecard widgets of your favorite blogs.

I know we're all excited to get this blog contest started. The mechanics are simple and so I hope there'll be a lot of bloggers who'll join this contest.

This blog contest will start tomorrow Saturday, April 24, 2010. Once the McLinky widget below this post already accepts your contest entry links, then, the contest is officially on. Contest will run for about 3 weeks and will end on May 15th, Sunday. Check the timeline at the end of this post for details.

Criteria for Judging

The percentages below don't reflect the actual scoring given to each entry, but how each criterion would impact our decision in picking the winners.

• Creativity - 30%
• The Wish - 50%
• Blogging/Writing Style - 20%

Contest Timeline

• April 24th, Saturday - Contest officially starts.
  
• May 15th, Saturday - Contest ends.
  
• May 16th to May 20th - Time given to sponsors to send in 2 of their favorites among all the entries.
  Note:  Sponsors are NOT required to participate.
  
• May 22nd, Saturday - Me, my partner Mai, my brother Kenneth and 3 of my friends will deliberate and pick the winners among all the entries chosen by the sponsors and me.
  
• Last week of May - Winners will be announced and I'll start sending out the prizes.
