I know what you're thinking as soon as you read the title - am I crazy to even consider it's even a percent true? Well, I don't believe in the apocalypse or that the world will end by December of this year. I don't believe that God will let us go through something like the Great Flood back in Noah's time. I'm not even a complete believer of everything written in the Bible, but, as the saying goes, "Live your life like everyday's your last." It'll help you make the most out of the time you have.
I'm not in a rush to do everything on my bucket list because of the fact that there's that itsy bitsy part of me who believes the world may end this 2012. For the timebeing, I'm satisfied with just ensuring that every decision or step I take will completely make me happy, that I won't compromise my happiness by making others or what they think of me control my life or my thoughts.
The thing is, even though you don't believe in the end of the world, you still have to consider that one day, most probably unexpectedly, we'll be leaving this world. It maybe within our control, but we have to be prepared. That's why I understand that even some of my young professional friends have prepared their own wills, inquired about life insurance rate, and that their finances will be taken care of when they bid Earth goodbye. I find it too morbid, but I understand.
I actually have contingency plans for when something happens to me. I don't think any of them will be useful if the world does end this 2012, so all I can do now is really live my life to the fullest possible. Again, I'm not a believer, especially after I read this article on National Geographic.
To end this post, with everything that's been happening in different parts of the world (earthquakes, war / violence, etc), do you believe in the end of the world this 2012? And how are you preparing for it?
