I have been musically-inclined all my life. I've performed on-stage as a dancer and a singer. Surprising to most people, I know. Dancing and singing were two of what I'm most passionate about when I was younger, way before the internet came about.
I remember when I was in elementary school, I wanted to become a professional dancer. It was something I thought I really wanted to pursue when I enter college. And then I realized I also wanted to sing. I don't sing as powerfully as Jessica Sanchez, but I know I have a decent singing voice enough for my college friends who were in a band to let me jam with them.
One thing that most of my friends might not know about me is I used to desperately want to learn how to play the guitar. In fact, my mother actually hired a tutor for me. He played in a band and has taught others how to play the guitar, so I knew I was in good hands. It was funny remembering the first question that came out of my mouth - "Will I get calluses on my fingertips from guitar-playing?". I was THAT vain back then. *LOL*
It was a good thing that when he brought me to a music store (there was no Akai guitar center yet back then), I hold off on buying my own guitar. I only spent two weeks with him and I did learn how to read notes and I've memorized the finger placements, but I quickly lost interest in learning how to play the guitar because I realized I never really wanted that. I confused my enjoyment of others playing the guitar to me wanting to learn. I prefer to sing along and listen to acoustic music more than ever.
My brother is the one who has more passion in music between us two. He's a pretty damn good singer (I posted a video of him here singing), he plays the guitar and even the piano. He's a good dancer too! We're talented like that. *wink*
I don't know, maybe in another life, I'd be a full-on singer or dancer. For now, though, since my life took a big turn and swayed my interest to something else, I'm retiring my boa. ;)
