In Remembrance of Elizabeth Taylor

I remember having this crazy conversation with a friend years ago while we were drinking the night away. She asked me, “If you were to undergo plastic surgery and look like a Hollywood celebrity, who would you choose?” The first name that came to mind was Elizabeth Taylor.

Her classic beauty, her big blue/violet eyes, her acting skills and her charm made me adore her even when I was younger. I never really followed her career or watched her movies back in the days. I was simply amazed by her beauty. Even when she grew older, she looked so beautiful. I can only wish the same for me.

Amidst all the controversies surrounding her life and career, I know she lived her life and will never be forgotten for her performances, just like in one of the most expensive productions of her time, Cleopatra. I will be watching this movie again this weekend (my laptop’s fixed, yayy!).

Sadly, she passed away at the age of 79 last March 23, 2011. But, as most of her loved ones and celebrity fans said, we shouldn’t be saddened by her death as Elizabeth Taylor lived her life to the fullest. She survived major health issues, including battles with pneumonia that almost killed her. Finally, her body gave in to congestive heart failure.

People will always remember her not just because of her great performances and beauty, but because of her good heart, helping people through the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

I know she’s giving us that captivating smile from the heavens telling us to not mourn her death but celebrate her life. You will be missed, Elizabeth.

The second celebrity I chose was Angelina Jolie, of course. But, my reason for choosing her is a totally different story. I still prefer Liz Taylor’s beauty over Angelina’s. I just hope I won’t need any acne treatments that work so I can maintain my beauty when I reach the prime age of 60 or 70. Of course, I wish myself good health, too. ^_^
