We've only been together for almost 2 weeks, but I think I'm falling in love with him. I haven't felt like this for the longest time so for the past week, I was a little on the fence if I'd want to pursue my relationship with him or just let someone else enjoy what he has to offer. But, then again, I believed everyone and everything deserve a second chance. And now, I believe I have found THE ONE.
With that said, let me introduce you to my new baby... *LOL*
Yes, that's a Nikon D3100 DSLR camera. I've been wishing to have one since time immemorial because I wanted to take food photography seriously. My Canon IXUS 220HS point-and-shoot camera just won't cut it if I wanted to take better and more inviting photos of food we feature on Certified Foodies.
No, I didn't spend money on this. Well, okay, technically, I did. But, I got this as a token of appreciation (as we, my "client", both agreed to refer to it) for all my hard work on a certain blog and website for a friend / client.
My bro Ken and I were super excited about it that we literally forced him to let us buy it immediately. Hahaha. But, we really appreciate it that my friend agreed and so my bro and I are having awesome time testing this baby out.
Here are 2 photos I took with it.
See how much clearer (yes, that word's accepted) my photos are?! I now understand why people invest on DSLRs. BUT, I still believe amazing photos are not a result of high-end cameras. It's about the perspective of the one behind the lens. :)
Please, don't judge. I'm fully aware that I need a ton more practice handling this camera. I barely even had time to read anything on the web or even the manual because of how busy I've been the past few days. BUT, we've already asked friends who own DSLRs, particularly Enzo of Juan Manila Express, so my bro's a li'l better at it now. I've only managed to play around with the different settings (aperture, shutter speed, etc) and I think I'm getting the hang of it. Soooo, expect better photos from here on out. :)
Though I still wish I have the resources to purchase a D90, I am pretty happy with my D3100. We're now saving up to buy accessories and tools to produce more awesome photos. If you have a suggestion, please holler at the comments section. :)
Now, my next target is to either buy a new laptop OR a desktop that I could use in my room. The one I'm currently using needs to go back to my shop. My old laptop Corveena failed on me. I'm thinking if I should just buy a new power adapter for her or what. I still got a few important files on there so I might just retrieve them and then sell her for a very cheap price so I can buy a new one. I've already scoured the web for technical specifications, like the list of best laptop computers at the source, so I can finally decide if I want a new laptop or a desktop.
I'm currently leaning towards buying a desktop instead 'cause I'm a heavy (quite literally *LoL*) computer user, especially now that I'll be concentrating on designing websites and blogs professionally. I'll write about my final decision once I've got the money to actually make that purchase. *LOL*
