Meet Our New Puppy…

No comments:

If you’ve been following my posts here on my blog, Facebook or on Twitter, you probably already know how much we love our pets. Here’s a list of how many pets we currently have now:

  • 3 adult dogs – Levi, Choco and Marcel (Stacie, our 9-year old dog, sadly passed away weeks ago… )
  • 4 puppies – Choco and Levi’s babies. 2 of them will be adopted by my BFF and my nanay’s colleague.
  • 4 adult cats – Maui, Orange, Bochok, and Bechay
  • 3 kittens – Bechay’s babies

That’s a total of 14 pets! I’ve blogged about them here. They’re everywhere you go. When I open my bedroom door, I would usually see either Marcel sleeping right outside, or Bochok running towards the door to try to get inside.

When you’re in the kitchen, you’d see Maui and Bochok hanging out near the sink / kitchen counter. Bechay is at the living room, tending to her babies. And now, we have a new baby roaming around the house:

Awwww... so cute

We haven’t named her yet because we weren’t convinced we wanted to keep her ‘til she started jumping out of their box / cage made in bamboo sticks. She’s a truly brave soul, and very sweet too, like her dad, Levi.

Levi, the father

Here’s a photo of Levi when he was a baby, alongside a photo of… oh darn, we have to name her already! LOL

Welcome, Marcel!

If you’ve been following my blog, you might know already that we’ve got 3 dogs (Stacie, Levi and Choco) and 2 cats (Maui and Orange) in our home.

Our 3 dogs and 2 cats - JustAnotherPixel.netTop, L-R: Stacie (half labrador), Levi (no, he doesn’t normally look like that…
his gums were just too dry LOL), Choco; Bottom: Maui and her son, Orange

And, just a few days ago, we welcomed someone new to the family. Meet our schweenie MARCEL!

Our baby schweenie Marcel, the newest addition to our family - JustAnotherPixel.net Marcel feeling a li’l tired during his first night with us

He is half Shih Tzu and half Dachshund so he’s a very small puppy. But, don’t let his size fool you! He’s a crazy, funny, wild, noisy, playful, sweet little one!

Marcel - small but terrible LOL - JustAnotherPixel.net He’s so fluffy, I’m gonna dieeeee!!

Marcel hasn’t made friends yet with our cats. But, he’s starting to get along well with Orange, who, by the way is Levi’s best friend now, surprisingly. We even see Orange sleeping closely beside him! So cute!

Going back to Marcel, I hope Maui starts to like him, too. She’s pregnant again, so it might just be the hormones that’s keeping her from letting Marcel befriend her. *LOL*

New Photos of Choco, our Puppy

No comments:

Just wanted to share these old and new photos of our puppy, Choco. She's now bigger and more active. We're very thankful she got this big. I hope she'll be with us for a longgggg time. We love her! :)

Choco - Old and New 1Those are old and new photos of Choco with my partner Mai. Just look at how big she got... I meant Choco, okay? *LoL* Choco got a bit stubborn. We're guessing it's because we spoiled her when she was younger. But, we managed to teach her a little discipline.

Mai training Choco to sitMai even managed to train her how to sit and roll over, as you can see in the above photo. Mai gave her a treat after Choco successfully sat at her command. We make sure she doesn't forget these tricks so we frequently remind her. Choco's a really smart puppy, if you ask us. :)

Choco - Old and New 2 Here's another photo of Choco. She and Levi seem to be "flirting", if you know what I mean. *LoL* I can now imagine what their puppies would look like. They'll be adorable! But, hey, I don't want to jinx anything so let's just see what's going to happen.

By the way, we had 2 of our other dogs (Bambi and Cleo) adopted by my father's friend. We were in a tight budget and feeding 6 dogs really had an impact on our daily food consumption.

Mai and I bought Choco a couple of toys and treats that she absolutely love. She doesn't like dog food as her main meal so she joins our 2 other dogs during meal time. My father takes care of that.

Meet Levi, our only Male Semi-Puppy

No comments:

I've posted about our 2 new puppies, Choco and Minzy, who we nicknamed "Negra" because she was the darker version of Choco. Now, I wanted to also blog about our semi-puppy Levi. I call him "semi-puppy" because he still looks like a puppy to us even when he's over 4 months old.

Levi was given to us last year, around November. He was so small when he was brought to us that I pitied him because I felt that he needed to still be with his mom so he can breastfeed. He was too small that he can fit inside our old hamster's cage. Even when he was still a baby, we knew he'd grow longer as he grow older because his parents were of the Dachshund breed. And I even thought he was a girl because he had an acne on chest. Good thing he was a male dog because all our dogs are females.

Even when he was a really small puppy, he was sweet and lovable. He was also very smart because he started to poop and pee outside our house, near our front gate, without anyone potty-training him. But, he was a bit shy that he always gave me a hard time whenever I wanted to take a photo of him. Here are some of those photos I took of li'l Levi:

levi1He can't even look at the camera. And he was trembling during this photo shoot because he was afraid of heights (table top) when he was a puppy. levi2Caught him yawning. Really cute. Right after this photo, I grabbed him and wanted to pinch him all over because he's just adorable!
levi3 Before I was able to take this shot, he kept on running away from me. I got tired and said, "Parang awa mo na, tumigil ka naman!" (Please, stop running!). Immediately, like he understood me, he went to this spot, sat himself down and looked at the camera. LOL! Love him! levi4 Levi trying to act like a big dog. He was barking at someone at the gate like he was one scary dog. That scar on his body was caused by our other dog, Cleo, who might have been jealous of him that's why she bit him hard enough to pull off some of Levi's fur. We moved Cleo away from him since.

Levi grew up a spoiled dog because we all loved him so much that we can't resist his cuteness. He knew exactly what we want of him and he's truly a sweet dog. My dad and him were very close to the point that my dad would let him sleep beside him. Just look at this photo. He even used my dad's arm as his pillow.

levi5My dad nicknamed him "Japok" for some reason I don't know. We didn't want Levi getting used to it so we continued to call him Levi. Now, he seems to know that my dad calls him Japok and the rest of us call him Levi. He responds to both names LOL.

Now that we've got 2 new puppies at home (Choco and Minzy), he's got new playmates and he's no longer our baby. He does show he's jealous of the attention we give the 2 new puppies, but, we make sure Levi knows we still love him and he's still a baby to us. He's still as sweet as he was before the 2 came. He likes to lick everyone's foot, especially when we just woke up. It's like his way of greeting us, "Good Morning!". LOLz.

Here are a few more photos of Levi. He's a pretty funny dog so we can't help but take more photos of him. He's just adorable!

levi6My brother took this photo of him during one of the hottest days last month. It was too hot that Levi can't close his mouth properly because the upper lip gets stuck on his dry gums. LOL levi7Another photo of him with the dry gums. LOL. Levi is no longer shy, as you can see. Hehehe. This is a pretty funny photo of him that one can use it to lighten up a gloomy day. LOL
levi8 This is how long and big he is now. Gosh.
But, he still thinks he's a baby so he always wants to be hugged or held by us.
levi9I just took this last night. Just look at him. He's all grown-up that he even has this semi-facial hair like a mustache and beard. LOL.

Do you have a pet dog? I'd love to see your photos of them. Leave a comment here on this post with a link to your blog post or photo of your dog/s and I'll put up a link love section on this post for all dog lovers out there.

Minzy's Bowel Troubles

1 comment:

One of our new puppies, Minzy, has been having bowel troubles. I know, it does sound disgusting, but if you see her, you'll pity her. Just look at her photo below.

minzy2She's very playful and 2 days ago, because she can't poop as easily as before, she seemed a bit weakened by it. We noticed some kind of rash on her butt and we knew it was because we needed to add more fiber to her diet to help her with this problem.

My friend, who's a veterinarian, gave us a prescription for the best hemorrhoid treatment for Minzy. We already applied it to the infected area a day ago and Minzy seemed to be doing better. She's back to her playful self again, but we're still observing if she'll poop as normally as before. We didn't see her poop last night 'coz we were fast asleep. Good thing we're all at home because of the Holy week so someone can look out for Minzy's poop time to see if she no longer experiences problems doing a number 2.

Good thing we've got 2 nurses here at home - my mom and my brother. They're feeding her fruits and vegetables to help her with this. If the problem persists, we'll bring her to Doc Cheng for a complete checkup. I'll post an update as soon as Minzy's okay.

Meet our New Puppies Choco and Minzy

No comments:

After over a week of our Bernese puppy Mocha's passing, we were given 2 new puppies by my brother's friend, Jonna. The puppies are sisters and they're so cute I can't get over it.

Choco
She was the first puppy that Jonna gave us. Mai and I agreed on naming our next puppy Choco no matter what the color of her/his fur is. So, even though she's got more of a light-brown fur, we named her Choco.

She's very cute and playful. She also loves sleeping or laying on our bed. Mai has been spoiling her ever since we got her. So, I just agreed to let her sleep on our bed while we watch our fave TV series. There was one condition, though. She needs to wear a diaper when she sleeps beside us. However, this didn't last long because Choco can't take the cold in our room 'coz of the AC.

Choco also loves Pedigree's DentaStix A LOT. Mai and I will be shopping for more treats and accessories for her this week, along with Mai's birthday celebration. We're planning on buying her a new leash and a dog food bowl of her own. We might buy her more toys soon but Mai and I are thinking of buying her clothes that she can wear so I won't worry too much when she's on our bed. We saw a couple of hip hop clothes at the pet store last week. Too bad Choco wasn't with us because I wanted to try it out first before we buy her one. I'm now looking at Snoop Dogg's clothing line for dogs online and they're pretty cool. Need to look for something to fit a snob like Choco. LOL

Minzy
Mai and I have been calling her "Negra" because she's way darker than Choco. She looks all dirty, too, because of her fur. She does look a lot like her sister Choco. Jonna gave her to us because her dad can't take all the dog shit inside their house. That's why I'm glad they got potty-trained quickly. Cleaning up after them was very tiring... and yucky, too.

Minzy is my brother Kenneth's puppy. She's way more playful than Choco. What kinda irritates me about her is that she doesn't know when to stop. So, I'm also trying my best to discipline her so she'd know when to stop playing around and biting her sister Choco and Levi, our other dog.

minzy2 minzy1

I love that first photo of Minzy. I've been trying to get the same pose from Choco, but she won't budge. LOL

chocominzy1

Here's a photo of them together. They really look alike, except for the fur, of course.

Minzy is very fond of food. It takes her a minute or two to gobble up the meal we prepared for her. It takes Choco 5 minutes to finish so, usually, Minzy would beat her to it.

They're both very sweet. Minzy even sleeps right outside our bedroom door. I'm guessing because she loves the cool breeze coming out of our air-conditioned room. LOL

Choco, on the other hand, loves to sleep in dark corners of our home. It usually takes us a long time to find her. But, she usually responds and comes out when we call her name. She also has this habit of wanting to go inside our room when Mai and I have closed the cafe and are about ready to rest. She'll scratch her paws on our door so we'd let her in. Cute!!

levi1Our house was a mess the first week we had them. But, now that they know where to do their dirty business, we only get a few pee accidents inside the house. In time, when they get older, they'd both know to control it so they can make it outside before giving in to the call of nature. LOL

We never had this problem with our other semi-puppy, Levi, pictured on the right. He never was potty-trained, but he know exactly where he needs to go. He used to pee and poop outside, near our gate. Now, he only pees there and he poops at our backyard. It's way easier to clean up. I actually think he helped us train Choco and Minzy. Maybe they saw him doing his business at the backyard so they followed him. Hehehe. Nice doggy! :)

We haven't brought them to the vet yet because all of them are healthy. I'll just call Doc Cheng for any questions. But, we'll bring them in for a checkup and their vaccine shot in about a month.
